Please use this to tell them how much you enjoyed their work or, especially for new writers, you may point out errors or give advice. You could win a prize too: authors vote for the most helpful Feedback Buddy in the annual obooko-prize awards.
Why PDF ebooks?
We decided to offer only PDF (Portable Document Format) ebooks because they are the closest to their printed counterparts, retaining cover art and page layout properties rather than being pure digital text for handheld devices (although the ebook readers we recommend offer PDF versions for handhelds too.) PDFs also have a wealth of useful features; for instance the type size can be enlarged, you can bookmark pages and, most importantly, print them on your home printer, What's more, Adobe Reader has a Read Aloud function which actually reads the book to you!
To view PDFs on your computer (or handheld device) you will need a PDF Reader. If you don't already have one installed get one free here.
Please consider these usage categories before you download:
All books are for your personal use only. Each work you find here has been granted author's written consent for distribution by obooko. Please do not assume you have similar rights.
Standard Copyright ebooks are strictly Copyright-protected. It is illegal to perform any actions, including copying, printing and distribution, without the author's written consent. PDF files downloaded from obooko are already cleared for personal printing if this option has been enabled.
Creative Commons licensed ebooks are more accommodating. They are published under a specific licence which is a set of conditions that may allow you to copy, share, remix and make derivative works. However, some of the author's legal rights as Copyright holder still apply and you must read and abide by the terms of the actual Creative Commons licence that accompanies each work.
Public Domain books have no restrictions. If no laws establish proprietary rights over a work to restrict its use by the public at large; typically when Copyright has lapsed or has not been asserted, it is deemed to be in the Public Domain. Please familiarise yourself with Copyright laws in your country.
For each book you download, please read the Copyright or Licence information contained at the beginning of the work. These are legal statements designed to protect the author's moral and intellectual property rights and must be respected.
