All eBooks on obooko are Copyright protected. Your rights are retained in full while your book appears on obooko.
Preparing your book for submission
Dimensions and formatting
If you have already produced your ebook please submit it as it is, there is no need to change anything. For new writers we provide free book templates which enable you to format and publish an e-book quickly. The templates are Microsoft Word doc's and, because there is no 'standard' size for a PDF e-book, you can choose from A4, US Letter, and A5 and US Half-Letter sizes.

We would like all new writers to take a look at the text formatting of our free book templates. While sans-serif fonts are okay for on-screen viewing, they don't work well for lengthy prose in printed form. So, we advise using a serif font and justifying the text; both of which are proven to be optimal for reading printed pages. Pick up any printed novel and see for yourself.
To follow our formatting advice is entirely up to you. However, please don't double line-space! This practice is based on a format requested by some publishers for assessing draft manuscripts; it is not suitable for final work as it affects readability by disturbing the natural flow of sentences. It also increases the size of your file. Be mindful that your eBook is intended for your readers, not publishers.
Cover image for your Bookpage
If you already have a cover embedded in your PDF file, that's fine. If not, please supply a separate .jpg or .gif file of the image to a minimum size of 180 x 260mm, preferably at 72 dpi resolution. If you don't have a cover, would you please create one to the above dimensions for your bookpage; we prefer not to have to put the words 'no image supplied.'
Converting to PDF (Portable Document Format)
Your word-processing software may have the option to save as PDF, if not, you can convert online or by downloading one of the free PDF-Writers below.
