THE BREEZE and the FLOWER
The bug climbed up the dandelion,
He climbed it mighty slow;
There was no need to hurry -
Where could poor flower go?
‘Cause dandelions do not have legs
To run like you and I;
They just can’t up and walk away,
And neither can they fly.
Bug skipped around her petals,
Then glared her in the eye;
Dandelion was very brave,
She did not flinch nor cry.
“Now listen here you flower,”
Said the naughty little bug -
“I’m going to chew your petals off
And make a yellow rug.”
Dandelion said nothing
She merely nodded to a breeze,
Who helped her shake some pollen off
To make the bad bug sneeze.
Bug sneezed and choked and coughed aloud,
Then tried to turn around,
But breeze he gave a mighty whoosh -
And knocked bug to the ground.
The dandelion was grateful,
Old bug was might glum;
Breezy went off singing,
He'd never had such fun.
So don't be like the nasty bug
And try to make folks blue,
Because they just might have a friend
Who'll do the same to you.
