This is a collection of some of the Octets that i have written in the past 2 years.
They are on various topics from nature to society to emotions.
I write poems for personal entertainment, for their ability to capture a "Verbal photograph" of a moment in life and challange of recording emotions in just eight lines, I enjoy them a lot. I hope they will do the same for you.
Path to the End
Along the course of cosmic creation, a gem was born…
Bending nature was his norm.
As brilliance grew, being second only to Him…
A price was paid, so very terrible and grim.
As impurities of greed and faults of selfishness brew…
The gem turned to stone, and poverty grew.
But gem or stone differ only in its shine…
Realizing this can give the cloud a silver line.
Friendship
Returning to bygone eras of joy and trust…
Anticipation and impatience pounding my heart at full burst.
Returning to friends who stood by me through fire and snow…
Who showed me life as I know.
There still remained a subtle feeling that my friendship can shrink…
But little do they know that they are closer than they think.
But someone’s trust broke through this blur…
This poem is dedicated to her.
Awaiting dawn
As I leave the realm of infinite possibilities…
And peep into the world of reality.
The morning breeze cruises in silence…
As through preparing the stage for the arrival of the magnificence.
The birds and beasts know too, as if by divine talent…
The sing in unison, the approach is imminent.
As the first streaks of glory come searing through the sky…
The brilliance of a million diamonds kneels before it, while it bid the
night goodbye.
To meet my friends
As the moment of truth draws near…
I wait with patience and joyous tear.
As I go to rendezvous with long lost friends…
It pains to remember the solitude, being separated by fate or
providence…
So long in my life has the separation manifested…
I fear my memory of them cannot be trusted.
But as I see them, I realize my fear was pointless…
Because with friends, it’s not the eyes that see but the heart that
connects.
