Based on the Biblical story of Esther, Hadassah is chosen as the Beauty Queen of Persia; she wins the heart of King Ahaserues and is instrumental [vital] in the salvation of her people, the Jews, who are to be destroyed because of the villian Haman's plot. Great story with heaps of wonderful dialogue. Royalty free for amateur groups, others contact Marie Seltenrych: firstname.lastname@example.org for approval and any help needed.
This will make the audience think, laugh and cry and remember a great night out.

I have used the Septuagint along with the Massoretic text [ [our usual originally sourced Bible ] for some verification of dates and information.
Part of this play (ladies quarters) has been rehearsed by a ladies group, with much laughter.1 In a smaller theatrical group, Actors could enjoy playing two or three characters.
The play has been adapted from the Bible story of Esther and shows the hand of the Almighty in the lives of Jewish captives in Susa, Persia.
Text is contemporary translation by the author, E Marie Seltenrych. Original text has been adapted to suit a contemporary play, with additional text added for dramatic effect; (author’s prerogative.) Stage directions are also included for convenience but can be altered at the Director’s discretion.
