On Tuesday, September 11th, 2001, the USA was rocked by the most audacious terrorist attack ever attempted as four airliners on domestic flights were hijacked and used as weapons. Their targets were the iconic Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and U.S. Capitol building. While the fourth plane never reached its target and the Pentagon suffered minor damage, the attack on the Twin Towers was so effective that both 110 storey buildings collapsed within 90 minutes. It was an unprecedented disaster, not only for the nature of the attacks, during which Boeing 767s were flown by novice pilots at well beyond the operational limits of the aircraft, but also in the way the towers collapsed so catastrophically within their own footprints, as in a controlled demolition. It had all the hallmarks of a conspiracy and theories discrediting almost every aspect of the official story were quick to surface.
In the first part of Collateral Lies, the author questions the motives of the terrorists and introduces a unique perspective on why the towers were targeted so high up on the morning of September 11th. The second part examines documented evidence of the build-up to the attacks, the Central Intelligence Agency's failure in allowing them to happen, and a disturbing recreation of what really occurred on the day. The third part of the book discusses the history of the World Trade Center from conception until their destruction. It pulls no punches in summarizing events on the day of the attack from the explosions in the Twin Towers through to their collapse, analysis of the debris, media coverage, the suspicious behaviour of the Israeli removals men, and the official report. The conclusion to Collateral Lies is as unique as the start.
Throughout the book the author has avoided the use of photo or diagram, relying instead on his own words to describe in detail what is happening in broadcast news and amateur video of the events. It includes many aspects the casual observer would overlook and raises questions of complicity on the part of people credited with capturing footage of the attacks.
Excerpt:
Over the past 500 years, society has become saturated with media thanks to first the printing press, then cinema and radio, television, the Internet and most recently the smart phone, all of which are still used to keep us abreast of the news. Long gone are the days when you would not believe something to be true unless you “heard it from the horse’s mouth” or “saw it with your own eyes”, now people say it must be true because they read it in a newspaper or saw it on TV. Forget those immortal words, “In God we trust” – God stopped telling us right from wrong a few thousand years ago. That job now rests with the media but can we trust them to tell us the truth?
It’s not so much the content as it is the format that adds credibility to media. People lie and the written word is no more than a transcript of what people claim to have seen or done but when it comes to video, especially live broadcasts, if you know it’s happening at the same time you’re watching it on TV then it has to be true, doesn’t it? And you’re not alone. What about the millions of other people watching at the same time –would anyone be so bold as to attempt such a wide scale deception? Well, yes they would. While spectators across Beijing were treated to 29 giant footprints walking across the sky, all created with fireworks, the estimated four billion people around the world watching events “live” on TV were unaware that what they witnessed was in fact a 55 second simulation of what it should look like. We would still be unaware of the deceit had it not been for video graphics animator, Gao Xiaolong, who let slip that he had overseen the production of the footage in an interview with the Beijing Times newspaper. The organizers then admitted the sequence would have been too difficult to capture live, so they faked it! No harm done this time, except perhaps the loss of a little credibility, but had they not come clean, would you have believed someone who claimed it was not possible? If the answer is “Yes”, then why is it so difficult to accept that what you saw on 9/11 could have been faked – because it challenges your belief in the media, a democratically elected government, or humanity?
This book contains no videos and not only because of the physical limitations of the medium on which it is published. It would have been easy to include individual frames, photos or diagrams but instead I have attempted to describe in detail what is happening in the hope that it will encourage you to go and take a look for yourself because that’s the only way to appreciate the crude and blatant deception attempted by whoever was responsible for the evil attacks on the World Trade Center that took the lives of so many innocent people. It is easy enough to find on the Internet. Even if you have seen them all before, go take another look at the videos described in this book and ask yourself in all honesty if what you are watching is real because it simply cannot be, not just physically, but coincidentally and emotionally as well.
