Never Look Back and other poems by Alexis L. Thompson contains a ton of poetry on controversial topics as seen through the eyes of a teenage girl.
Alice, Malice in Wonderland
Alice
Malice in Wonderland.
Forgotten dreams
are high in demand.
So the striped cat
laughs at you.
Says, " Young Alice
won't make it through."
Wonderland falling
at your feet.
Four walls, no doors.
So there's no retreat.
Hatter and Hare
ask you for tea.
Sugar and cream.
The Arsenic is free.
Caterpillar wants to
give you a hit.
Take or face wrath
of his acid spit.
Play along little girl.
Stay on your toes.
goes, nobody knows.
Alice
Malice in Wonderland.
Gladly shake the Devil's hand.
A Bullet Wound
A bullet wound to the heart
is nothing compared to my pain.
Shot with the revolver of emotion.
Lying still in the rain.
Killing for happiness
in my life one more time.
Not in items of possesion.
I wont pay a dime.
With each strike
my heart bleeds out more.
I feel the dripping
of blood to my core.
A physical bullet
will not kill me faster
than the pain I have
from this emotional disaster.
