These truths from God's Word demonstrate and affirm how a person can have a true and fulfilling relationship with God.
Excerpt:
As people are going out shopping this Black Friday to buy gifts for others and for themselves; I think about the past black Fridays on how people waited for hours and even camped out in front of the stores, trying to get some material things that were on sale.
And how some people broke in-line, took stuff out of someone else's buggy and some even fought someone over some material thing. But the thing is, those same people that fought to get those things, will soon be tired of those things and no longer be content with them; because later they may see something else that they think is even better than what they had bought, or it will end up getting broke or just stop working one day.
But there is a gift that is greater than all, and nothing can be compared to it. It is a gift that you don't have to wait for hours in a line to try to get it. And no one can take this gift from you, and you will never get tired of it; because this gift only gets better as time goes on. You don't need cash or a credit card to buy this gift; because the price for this gift has already been paid in full for you.
What is this gift? It is Salvation, that has been paid in full, by Jesus Christ. Jesus paid the price and won the victory. Dying on the cross, He rose to set us free. Jesus paid the price and won the victory. Took away my sin and gave me liberty. Opened up the way so I can be with Him eternally.
You may be asking yourself, how can I receive this Gift?
First, you need to accept that you are a sinner and you owe a penalty.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death...
Then you must believe by faith that Jesus Christ has already paid our sin debt. "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).
And you must believe what Jesus Christ did for you.
The word "believe" means to trust, to depend on, to rely on. To believe that Jesus Christ blood was shed, died on the cross, was buried, and that He rose again on the third day to pay the sin debt you owe.
