Walking With God
There are moments that can change a person's life. I would like to share one of mine. I was given a gift during the Christmas of 2014; a new thought that I need to explore. And this writing is part of my unwrapping process. And I want to be careful here because it is an easy gift to lose if it's not carefully documented. Somehow our minds are such that we can substitute a thought for a vision, a concept for a reality, and never really see a thing for what it really is. We can only see it for what we think it is and lose the truth of it all together.
I exist. My inside is God's outside. My outside is God's inside. I have only one view of the universe which is exterior to me because there is only one God. God has only one inside but he has multiple outsides (universes) since he made them all. Each one of his universes is one of us.
Using this new view, different than the generally held concept of the universe existing, I can say that God exists, that I interact with God and through God interact with other people. This different view is the third creation. And yes the universe exists; we are in the universe, the first creation. And yes we have life, we react to the things being done to us through the universe. This is the second creation. But we really need to spend time with God in the third creation if we want to be more than just animals, more than objects that occupy space. Refer back to my “Theory of Amorphism” on the subject of these creations.
What are we and how can we spend time with God? We know we are not machines, we have the spark of life, reality within. We see the world around us but God is invisible. But that is because we are limiting ourselves to what we see, the physical universe. We also have our mental facilities and a spiritual side. Those three sides are actually the three levels of creation we just mentioned. And there seems to be no limit to what we can do, except where we limit ourselves and where, due to the actions of others, the world seems to be against us.
There is a mistake in how we see ourselves. And that mistake is called “self.” We think we are individual beings when actually we are part of each other. And its this “self thinking” that gets us in trouble.
Mark 7:14-23 (NKJV)
14 When He (Jesus) had called all the multitude to Himself, He said to them, “Hear Me, everyone, and understand: 15 There is nothing that enters a man from outside which can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man. 16 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!”
17 When He had entered a house away from the crowd, His disciples asked Him concerning the parable. 18 So He said to them, “Are you thus without understanding also? Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from outside cannot defile him, 19 because it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods?” 20 And He said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. 21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. 23 All these evil things come from within and defile a man.”
These things motivate our thoughts, our words and our actions. And they come from deep inside of us, from our very heart.
What are they? They can be organized into four groups; conceitedness, selfishness, deceptiveness and aggressiveness.
A conceited person has a high view of himself or herself. They have a Narcissistic Personality Disorder with no regards to anyone's feeling. They have evil thoughts like superiority over other people due to race, religion, class economic structure or political connections. They envy others but have a inferiority complex themselves that requires constant approval. They have no commitment to a sexual partner but are only interested in their own satisfaction. They like to rule others demanding perfection even though they themselves are incompetent.
Selfish people are only interested in their desires. They have an extreme greed for money or material goods. Their behavior and thoughts are self-destructive and damaging to others. They murder both physically and emotionally taking the life out of people and situations. They steal other people's partners for their own sexual desires.
Deceptive people are completely wicked. They practice deceiving people by concealing and misrepresenting truths. They enchant relationships by being sexually unrestrained. A lot of our advertising and entertainment medias fit in this category.
Aggressive people like to attack both physically and emotionally. They damage peoples reputations with false statements. They steal people's possessions, lands, families. Passive-Aggressive behavior include negative actions being substituted for voicing an opinion. They can be cynical and pessimistic. How much of our civilization have been stolen by these people?
Now many people have these traits. In fact in many area of our culture these traits are encouraged and glorified. This is the dividing line between living for the world and living for God. Because of these traits other psychopathological phenomenons exists like depression, anxiety, compulsive disorders which are also damaging to people personality.
The Greek language has three words for life. Bios the life of the body, Psyche the life of the mind and Zoe the life from God that sustains everything. The psyche-life consciousness is where these behaviors exist and the psyche lives on after the body dies. So the defilement can last a long time maybe even forever. How can we fix ourselves? Only the Zoe light from God can change us. We have to connect to God.
