A collection of sonnets by Ode Clement Igoni.
From the book:
BLOOD
Are we red cause we are carried in a womb
Or we are red because we breath in oxygen
If I was to be born through a different means
Then what color would have flow inside me
We are blood because we feed from same
From the cord of my parent host I became
Growing up in the dark I wait for the light
Nine months’ time there behold me lite
We are blood when our thinking aligns
We walk together on a very good path
Inside this vessel we all are carrying
Working safely to avoid any injuries
We are blood when each 24 hours go by
We breath what we don’t see and it turns red
FORGIVE
Forgive me I made some mistakes
Teach me for there are lots at stake
Lessons to learn that will be from you
I’ll listen, change and turn brand new
Please let the pains of yesterday go
Let a new day come to renew it all
So we can see each other and smile
This way making our hearts happy
Forgive me so as not to dirt the heart
Or to prick it and it starts to bleed
Un-forgiveness causes openings within
From the holes hatred begins to go in
Forgive to keep body and soul in one piece
Forgive to keep the mind always at peace
