TAKEN APART
The sound of your going is like
Scissors on construction paper –
A sarcasm of the breath
Which broken lungs confess
No more will we hold our
X-rayed hands together –
Each of us will walk out of the morgue
As firewood gathered in winter
We will burn our memories –
Here the old growths of passions past
Falling to a single axe
Salmon filleted on the kitchen counter
Pried of spine from flesh –
Our romance and all its sea life
A delicacy to the knife
